This year, I transferred into a new high school where I have my first Spanish for Spanish speakers class with four levels. This class has been the most challenging yet most rewarding! Although I try to stay using Spanish about 95% of the time; there are many days where I end up using Spanishlish. As a heritage speaker myself, I tell my students that it's still important to strive to identify when and where to express our "Spanishlish selves".

Marjorie, I totally agree with you. At the end of the day we want our students to know we have lived similar experiences as them. Thanks for passing on our beautiful heritage language to future generations.
